Abstract
This research focuses on identifying the dimensions that emotional intelligence presents as a resilient strategy for the best development in the labor area of tourist guides in La Paz city, Bolivia; identifying the role that emotions play in their daily lives and the action in extraordinary events. As a methodological contribution, it denotes the relevance of the qualitative research, emphasizing the case study and the meticulous intervention in each participant --tourist guides who present a labor experience greater than five years and are between thirty and fifty years of age. For the analysis, it uses qualitative techniques centered in thematic analysis. In the research development, results show how the tourist guides use emotional intelligence in their work, emphasizing the optimal dominion of their emotions in facing adversities or abrupt situations; they are conscious of the benefit that entails in their daily life and their profession. This research is a relevant reference in the training of professional tourist guides and the management of their emotions as a resilient strategy in subsequent adversities and as replication agents for their colleagues.
